Job Description

We are seeking a Data Governance Manager to lead and manage the implementation and maintenance of data governance policies, procedures, and standards. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our customer's data is managed, protected, and utilized efficiently through the development and implementation of data governance frameworks, policies and standard.

The candidate must be an experienced manager capable of leading and managing a team, advocating for the usage of data governance across the enterprise, development and rolling out data governance policies, and effectively influencing users to adopt and comply with these standards.

Key Responsibilities :
  • Develop and Implement Data Governance Frameworks : Lead the development and implementation of data governance frameworks and strategies to ensure the organization’s data is accurate, secure, and compliant.
  • Data Quality Management : Establish and maintain data quality standards and best practices to ensure data consistency, accuracy, and completeness across the organization.
  • Compliance and Security : Collaborate with legal, IT, and compliance teams to ensure data governance initiatives align with regulatory requirements and industry standards, such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA.
  • Data Stewardship : Oversee data stewardship activities and work with data owners to ensure that data is managed appropriately throughout its lifecycle.
  • Data Integration and Metadata Management : Lead the integration of data governance practices into data systems and platforms, ensuring proper metadata management and data lineage tracking.
  • Reporting and Documentation : Develop reports and dashboards to monitor data governance performance and provide documentation and training materials for stakeholders.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with IT, business, and data teams to implement technical solutions that improve data governance practices and enhance the usability of data assets.
  • Technology Leadership : Oversee the selection and implementation of data governance tools, technologies, and systems that support the organization’s data strategy and governance objectives.
  • Data Governance Training : Provide training and guidance to staff on data governance best practices and tools, fostering a culture of data responsibility across the organization.
Qualifications :
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Data Science, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • 7 years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles, data quality management, metadata management, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with Data Modeling and data governance tools and platforms (e.g., Erwin, Collibra, Alation, Informatica etc..).
  • Knowledge of data privacy laws and regulations (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc.).
  • Strong technical skills in data integration, data architecture, and data security.
  • Must have at least a Public Trust Clearance .
  • Proficient in English spoken and written communication skills , with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent leadership and project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications :
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Certifications in data governance or related fields (e.g., CDMP, DAMA).
  • Familiarity with machine learning or AI-driven data governance technologies.
