Job Description:
We are looking for a reliable and compassionate Direct Support Professional to work with a family of a sixteen year old boy. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting residents with daily living activities while ensuring their comfort, dignity, and safety. This role requires a strong understanding of resident rights and the ability to follow care plans effectively. The DSP Worker will be responsible for ensuring that clients feel comfortable and safe while receiving the necessary support. As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will provide non-medical respite care services to individuals in the comfort of their homes.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience as a caregiver or in a related field (preferred but not required)
Compassionate, patient, and dependable
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Reliable transportation to client homes
CPR/First Aid certification (preferred, or willing to obtain)

Key Responsibilities:

Assist residents with personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing.
Support daily living activities such as meal preparation, feeding, and mobility assistance
Have experience or be willing to work with children that have development disabilities
Be social - interact 1-on-1 with a child while parent takes a break
Implement care plans tailored to individual resident needs
Help with mobility, transfers, and positioning
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect resident privacy
Engage residents in social activities and promote their emotional well-being
Provide first aid as necessary in accordance with training and protocols
