Event-Catering Manager Shiraz Kitchen & Wine Bar | Chelsea NYC & White PlainsJoin Our Award-Winning Team!

Shiraz Kitchen & Wine Bar, the acclaimed Persian-Mediterranean restaurant with Wine Spectator's 2024 Award of Excellence, is seeking an experienced Event-Catering Manager to oversee private dining and catering operations at both our Chelsea NYC and White Plains locations.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a dynamic professional to elevate our already successful catering and private dining program. You'll manage everything from intimate business dinners to festive celebrations, working directly with our owner Reza Parhizkaran who brings his passion for hospitality to every aspect of our restaurants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all private dining inquiries and bookings for both Chelsea (111 W 17th St) and White Plains (80 Mamaroneck Ave) locations
  • Oversee our exclusive 40-person private dining room in White Plains
  • Coordinate on-site events, restaurant buyouts, and off-premise catering
  • Develop and execute catering proposals, contracts, and event orders
  • Build relationships with corporate clients, wedding planners, and local businesses
  • Work with our chef to create custom Persian-Mediterranean menus and wine pairings
  • Manage event staff scheduling and training
  • Ensure seamless coordination between kitchen, service team, and clients
  • Drive catering sales growth through proactive outreach and networking
  • Maintain our reputation for "making every event unforgettable"
What You Bring

Required:

  • Minimum 3 years event/catering management in fine dining or Michelin-recognized restaurants
  • Proven track record managing $2M+ in annual event revenue
  • Experience with event management software (Tripleseat, Resy, or similar platforms)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
  • Strong financial acumen for budgeting, forecasting, and margin management
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Valid driver's license for travel between Chelsea and White Plains
  • Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays as events require
  • Passion for food, wine, and hospitality excellence

Preferred:

  • Experience with Mediterranean or Middle Eastern
  • Existing relationships with NYC and Westchester event planners
  • Knowledge of kosher/halal dietary requirements and cultural celebrations
  • Wine knowledge or sommelier certification
  • Bilingual capabilities
  • Experience managing multiple restaurant locations
