Are you passionate about language instruction and cross-cultural communication? We are seeking qualified Language Instructors to join our team under an anticipated contract with the Drug Enforcement Administration's (DEA) Foreign Personnel Unit, Foreign Training and Language Program (OFSP-B). This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality language training to law enforcement personnel across the United States.
Position Overview:Language Instructors will be based in the Continental United States (CONUS) and must be available for in-person training sessions at various locations nationwide. Key Responsibilities:
Conduct language training in all 50 states, U.S. territories, commonwealths, and major metropolitan areas near DEA offices. Languages needed include: Arabic (Modern Standard Arabic and all dialects), Bulgarian, Burmese, Chinese Mandarin, Continental Portuguese, Dutch, French, French-Creole, Greek, German, Indonesian, Italian, Khmer, Romanian, Russian, Serbo-Croatian, Spanish, Polish, Portuguese, Thai, or Ukrainian.
Develop specialized law enforcement curricula, instructional materials, and assessment tools aligned with the Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) language proficiency scale.
Utilize adult learning principles and experiential learning methodologies to enhance engagement and retention.
Incorporate educational technology and blended learning techniques, including Zoom for Government, Adobe Connect, and AI-supported instructional tools.
Continuously assess learners' progress and adapt instructional techniques to meet training objectives.
Collaborate in project-based learning teams, participate in after-action reviews, and contribute to ongoing curriculum development.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as training and assessment, leadership training, organizational leadership, or foreign language instruction.
Proven experience in teaching foreign languages, particularly in one-on-one instructional settings.
Strong ability to multitask and communicate effectively with senior officials and diverse audiences.
Leadership experience in mentoring and coaching.
Proficiency in English as well as at least one of the following languages: Arabic (Modern Standard Arabic and all dialects), Bulgarian, Burmese, Chinese Mandarin, Continental Portuguese, Dutch, French, French-Creole, Greek, German, Indonesian, Italian, Khmer, Romanian, Russian, Serbo-Croatian, Spanish, Polish, Portuguese, Thai, or Ukrainian.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
