Private Family in Chappaqua, NY Seeking a Live-In Nanny/Housekeeper

Position: Full-Time Live-In Nanny/Housekeeper
Schedule: 6 days per week, approximately 54 hours
Salary: $25–$34/hour (DOE), ($1375 – $1870 per week) paid on the books
Start Date: August 25, 2025

About the Family

A warm, easygoing family is relocating from South Jersey to Chappaqua, NY, and is seeking a live-in Nanny/Housekeeper to help them settle into their new home and routine. With three young children (ages 5, 3, and 1.5), this household thrives with structure, calm energy, and a proactive support system. Mom stays at home and leads the parenting style, while dad works full-time as an attorney. The family is looking for someone who feels like a true partner — a steady, kind presence who loves children and genuinely enjoys home organization and family life.

• Children: Three children – oldest entering Kindergarten, two in preschool part-time
• Home Size: 5-bedroom home
• Pets: None

Responsibilities

• Assist mom with managing the children’s day-to-day needs
• Help with school pickups and transport (driving required)
• Prep and cook simple, healthy meals — especially having dinner ready after school so mom can eat with the kids
• Help with children’s activities and engagement in the afternoon
• Restocking household essentials and pantry items
• Keep common areas, bedrooms, and play spaces tidy and organized
• Family laundry and making beds
• Occasional deeper tasks like cleaning out the fridge or organizing a closet
• Coordinate and collaborate with a weekly cleaning service
• Travel with the family for summer trips or school breaks (typically 1 month in the summer)

Ideal Candidate & Personality

The ideal candidate is warm, calm, and easygoing — someone who thrives in busy households and doesn’t get rattled by chaos. A flexible, proactive, and professional presence is key. This person should know when to jump in and when to give the family space (i.e., not hovering at the dinner table, but always reading the room). They should love the kids like family, grow alongside them. The family values kindness, reliability, and a willingness to pitch in wherever needed — whether it’s organizing the pantry or preparing meals.

Requirements

• Prior experience in a similar nanny/housekeeper role
• Excellent references
• Legal to work in the United States
• CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain)
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Willing to travel domestically (mostly summer trips)
• Comfortable with live-in accommodations (bedroom + private bath)
• Vehicle not provided at this time, but mileage reimbursement is offered

Position Compensation

• Salary: $25–$34/hour depending on experience, paid on the books ($1375 – $1870 per week)
• Living Accommodations: Live-in preferred; private bedroom with ensuite upstairs
• Vacation/PTO: Negotiable based on candidate
