This job interacts with patients, all levels of management and employees in identifying, evaluating, researching and resolving patient grievances to enhance overall patient satisfaction.
Provides feedback, recommendations and support in the design and improvement of patient care systems.
**Hours**
Monday - Friday
8am - 4:30pm
**Education**
Required - High School diploma or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Communications, Sociology, Psychology or related field of study.
Preferred - Additional degrees, business training experience and/or certifications may be combined to meet minimum qualifications.
**Work Experience**
Required - 4 years of related health experience. Experience maintaining strict confidentiality regarding patient contact information, medical information and all sensitive issues.
**Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)**
+ Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information. Must be proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard.
+ Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
+ Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills and analytical skills
**Job Duties**
+ Documents, investigates, provides information, and resolves patient grievances.
+ Refers complaints which involve the threat of litigation to Risk Management.
+ Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of all patient contacts.
+ Assists the Manager with interpreting and analyzing issues as they relate to current systems and procedures. Acts as a facilitator for management personnel and physician staff with regard to resolving Patient Relations issues/problems (i.e. rounding on patients and/or their visitors).
+ Represents PRD policies at New Provider Orientation/New Hire Orientation.

**Physical and Environmental Demands**
The physical essential functions of this job include (but are not limited to) the following: Frequently exerting 10 to 20 pounds of force to move objects; occasionally exerting up to 100 pounds of force. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for sedentary work. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste. The risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of the role.
Mechanical lifting devices (carts, dollies, etc.) or team lifts should be utilized.
Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
Must be able to travel throughout and between facilities.
Normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid or tissue and as part of their employment, incumbents are not called upon to perform or assist in emergency care or first aid.
There is no occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases
