Description We are looking for an experienced Payroll Supervisor to lead payroll operations for a large organization based in Long Beach, California. This long-term contract position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in payroll systems, team leadership, and ensuring compliance with payroll regulations. The role offers an opportunity to contribute to the efficient management of payroll processes for up to 1,000 employees, while fostering collaboration across departments. Responsibilities: - Oversee and manage the full payroll cycle for up to 1,000 employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and relevant regulations. - Supervise and mentor payroll team members, providing support and opportunities for growth and development. - Leverage payroll systems such as Kronos or Workforce Central to enhance efficiency and maintain accurate employee data. - Troubleshoot payroll system issues and coordinate with IT to resolve technical challenges. - Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of changes and updates. - Generate detailed payroll reports for management and audit purposes, ensuring data integrity and accessibility. - Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to align payroll operations with overall organizational goals. - Identify process inefficiencies and implement improvements to streamline workflows and enhance productivity. - Maintain detailed documentation of payroll procedures and promptly address any discrepancies. - Support benefits administration processes, including 401(k) and other employee programs. Requirements - Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll management, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role. - Proven ability to handle payroll operations for large organizations (up to 1,000 employees preferred). - Expertise in payroll systems such as Kronos or Workforce Central, including system implementation and troubleshooting. - Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and familiarity with accounting software. - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field preferred. - Certified Payroll designation is highly desirable. - Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead teams and collaborate across departments.
