School Psychologist Internship 2026-2027
The Wilson Central School District is offering a PAID ($20,000 year) school psychologist intern position for the 2026-2027 school year. The intern will work full-time primarily in the Middle School/ High School setting with a diverse set of students, faculty and staff under a certified, tenured school psychologist and the Director of Special Education.
This internship opportunity will provide a wide range of experience including:
Assessing students with cognitive, achievement, social-emotional, and adaptive measures to evaluate or reevaluate eligibility for educational services
Writing and presenting reports containing evaluative information as well as providing recommendations for supports at CSE meetings
Participation in multidisciplinary, 504 and IEP meetings
Implementing social-skills/social-emotional programming within 12:1+1 classrooms
Performing in-class observations and constructing/presenting Functional Behavioral Analyses as well as constructing/implementing Behavior Intervention Plans
Consultation and collaboration with administrators, teachers and support staff
Development and maintenance of IEP and 504 plans to address students' unique needs and promote positive outcomes
Traveling to various sites to administer Psychoeducational Assessment to various ages and abilities (including but not limited to: BOCES, BOCES Niagara Academy, New Directions-HGL Campus School, and Summit Center)
Engaging in regular supervisory practices with site supervisor and graduate program advisor
Communicating with parents and guardians regarding student progress and testing
Providing information and connection to outside resources and agencies
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in an accredited School Psychology graduate program (Ed.S. or equivalent).
Completion of required coursework and practicum experience prior to internship.
Strong understanding of psychological assessments, behavioral interventions, and counseling techniques.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and educational teams.
Commitment to ethical and professional standards in school psychology.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational setting.
Knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
Familiarity with data-driven decision-making and behavioral interventions.
