Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Accounting Manager to lead the accounting function for all business operations across Texas, including Houston and Dallas. This critical leadership position will oversee two direct reports and be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting both inside and outside of the month-end close process.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, experienced accounting professional with a strong understanding of GAAP, the ability to partner cross-functionally, and a drive for continuous improvement.

Please note: Candidates must reside in Houston, TX to be considered for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all accounting activities for operating entities in the Texas region, ensuring accuracy, timely reconciliations, and compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
• Review and analyze financial results on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Present findings alongside the Controller to senior operational leadership.
• Partner with the Area Vice President of Operations to provide financial insights, driving profitability, efficiency, and cost controls.
• Lead and coordinate the annual budgeting process, collaborating with operations to develop aligned forecasts.
• Support and prepare documentation for external audits to ensure compliance and transparency.
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff, promoting accountability, growth, and high performance.
• Collaborate with other Accounting Managers across the Climate segment and other cross-functional teams to align best practices and standardize procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, including experience managing teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
• Knowledge of Percentage of Completion accounting, or willingness to learn.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Access, or ability to quickly become proficient.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Self-motivated with a keen attention to detail and a process-oriented mindset.
