General Purpose

Manages the development and implementation of complex construction and maintenance projects/assignments with a considerable corporate and/or business unit impact. Provides analysis, feasibility studies, budget and schedule. Establishes project goals, negotiates timelines/schedules, and develops project plans. Oversees necessary maintenance for assigned corporate locations.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a customer first culture and commit to delivering outstanding results for customers.
  • Manage one or more highly complex construction projects, research, track, and report on initiatives.
  • Ensure that deliverables are completed in accordance with the PacifiCorp Project Governance and Standards.
  • Develop and implement projects by providing strategic direction to a team.
  • Appoint Work Stream leaders (when necessary) to manage significant subsets of projects.
  • Analyze and evaluate deliverables to define critical tasks.
  • Recommend project plans, timelines, and budgets to management, and monitor progress against plan.
  • Evaluate and establish project goals, develop project plans, and negotiate timelines and schedules.
  • Communicate project objectives, parameters, status, and outcomes. Manage client expectations.
  • Develop effective communication plans and implementation plans to ensure that deliverables from significant programs and initiatives are sustainable within the organization.
  • Develop financial documents for all aspects of budget reporting.
  • Oversee the budget development and coordinate budget activities with various groups.
  • Oversee demand maintenance tasks for assigned company facilities.
  • Participate with Procurement in Vendor/Client negotiations as a driver and facilitator.
  • Manage any vendor staff performing work on the project.
  • Manage interaction between customers and the project team.
  • Facilitate team efforts, provide guidance and direction to team members, and communicate project objectives, parameters, status, and outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering; or the equivalent combination of education.
  • Five years related professional experience in construction or maintenance project management.
  • Previous experience leading complex project teams or in a leadership role.
  • Analytical and evaluation skills to define critical tasks, establish sequence of events, identify individuals/teams, timelines and outcomes and to produce project plans.
  • Project management skills to develop and monitor work agreements and budgets, determine specifications, schedules, timelines, and define deliverables.
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills to interface with team members and customers to promote positive customer outcomes.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate team efforts, provide guidance and direction to team members.
  • Financial modeling to quantify costs and benefits of projects and to track and maintain project budgets.
  • Knowledge of project management techniques, the company’s business, applicable policies, procedures, and practices, and federal, state, and local laws.
  • Expertise in the use of technical applications, software, and tools.

Preferences


• Knowledge of all environmental regulations: NEPA, EIS, EA, SHPO, and Corp of Engineers.
• PMP Certification.
• Working knowledge of SAP in cost tracking and forecasting.
• Utility Industry experience.
