Accountant (CPA Required)

Location: West Bloomfield, MI (On-site)

About the Role

DACUT is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant with an active CPA license to manage day-to-day accounting operations, support financial reporting, and ensure compliance across our corporate and cannabis operations. This role works closely with executive leadership to provide accurate financial insights and maintain regulatory compliance.

✅ Key Responsibilities

• Manage the general ledger, reconciliations, and journal entries

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

• Ensure compliance with GAAP , state regulations, and internal controls

• Support tax planning, preparation, and filings , including cannabis-specific considerations (e.g., 280E)

• Partner with leadership to provide financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting

• Monitor cash flow, expense tracking, and cost controls

• Maintain accurate documentation and assist with internal and external audits

• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy

️ Required Skills & Experience

• Active CPA license (required)

• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in regulated industries

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards

• Proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets and accounting software

• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills

• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to leadership

• Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the cannabis industry

• Knowledge of IRC 280E and cannabis tax structures

• Experience with multi-entity or multi-site operations

• Public accounting or corporate finance background
