Job Description
Description We are looking for a dedicated Credentialing Specialist to join our team in Sacramento, California. In this Contract-to-permanent position, you will play a key role in ensuring providers meet all credentialing requirements while maintaining accurate records and compliance with organizational policies. This role requires strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and proficiency in credentialing processes.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the credentialing process for medical staff and advanced practice providers, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and medical staff bylaws.
- Maintain and update the credentialing database with accurate and complete provider information.
- Monitor expirable documents such as liability insurance, licenses, certifications, and immunization records, ensuring timely renewals.
- Communicate with providers to address deficiencies and clarify compliance requirements.
- Prepare and assemble verified credentialing files for leadership review and recommendations.
- Track ongoing proctoring, peer reviews, and other performance monitoring processes.
- Respond to affiliation requests from other facilities and generate case logs as needed.
- Ensure timely processing of applications, adhering to a 30-day turnaround time when applicable.
- Collaborate with provider offices to establish effective relationships and streamline credentialing workflows.
- Handle additional projects and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Quality Care & Billing. Requirements - Minimum of 2 years of experience in credentialing or a related field.
- Proficiency in credentialing software and familiarity with EHR systems.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Certification or training in credentialing or a related area is highly preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to credentialing processes.
