Responsibilities:
- Providing skilled nursing care within the operating room environment.
- Collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other members of the surgical team.
- Preparing the operating room and ensuring appropriate equipment and supplies are available.
- Assisting with surgical procedures as needed.
- Monitoring patient vital signs and condition during and after surgery.
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Documenting patient care accurately and completely.
- Maintaining a sterile and safe operating room environment.
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
- Minimum of two years of hospital experience (preferably in an operating room setting).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
- Interdisciplinary team collaboration skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.
Special Considerations:
- On-call responsibilities include: 2 primary weekday calls (10:30 PM-6:00 AM) and 2 secondary weekday calls (10:30 PM-6:00 AM) within a 6-week cycle; 2 primary weekend calls (one 12-hour shift, 6:30 AM-7:00 PM or 6:30 PM-6:00 AM) and 2 secondary weekend calls (one 12-hour shift, 6:30 AM-7:00 PM or 6:30 PM-6:00 AM) within the 6-week cycle.
- Return to office (RTO) is required.
- Facility allows for one call-off per two-week pay period.
Scheduling:
- Shift type and scheduling details will be determined by the manager, with consideration given to block scheduling requests. On-call schedule is as described in Special Considerations.
