As our Community Facilities Operations Technician in Charlotte, NC, you’ll be the person everyone counts on—from residents and staff to visiting contractors—ensuring every system works safely and reliably day after day.

A Day in the Life

Your morning might begin with a walk-through of the grounds, checking for anything that needs attention. You’ll review overnight maintenance requests, prioritize urgent fixes, and line up materials for the day. One hour you’re troubleshooting an HVAC unit; the next, you’re repairing a plumbing leak or tracking down an electrical issue. When events are scheduled, you’ll coordinate setup and later help with breakdown to make sure spaces are ready and restored.

What You’ll Own

• Performing routine maintenance and corrective repairs on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.
• Conducting recurring inspections to spot issues early and prevent downtime.
• Responding quickly to maintenance requests, resolving problems efficiently and professionally.
• Documenting all maintenance activities and repairs with accurate records.
• Coordinating with vendors and contractors for specialized work and projects.
• Assisting with the setup and breakdown of facilities for meetings and community events.
• Upholding safety standards and keeping work areas clean, organized, and compliant.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in facilities maintenance is a plus.
• Hands-on experience in facilities maintenance or a closely related trade.
• Solid understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Strong troubleshooting abilities and a meticulous attention to detail.
• Comfort working independently and collaborating as part of a team.
• Clear communication skills and a customer-first approach.
• Capability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks as the job requires.
